Accessibility Statement

At ChurchDesk, we attach great importance to the accessibility of our website.
On this page we inform you about how we ensure accessibility on this website.

Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the website churchdesk.com.

We are committed to making our website accessible in accordance with the provisions of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the associated Ordinance on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services under the European Accessibility Act (EAA). The technical requirements for accessibility are derived from the European standard EN 301 549 in conjunction with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

1. Status of Accessibility

This website has been designed according to the aforementioned guidelines. We are aware that accessibility is an ongoing process and we continuously work to make our content and functions accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities or limitations.

On the website, the following measures have already been implemented to improve accessibility:

The website has a clear semantic structure with correct use of headings, which facilitates navigation and understanding of the content. Most images are provided with meaningful alternative texts, so that screen reader users can also grasp the content. The language attribute of the website is correctly set to German, which enables screen readers and other assistive technologies to pronounce and interpret the content correctly.

Basic keyboard operability is provided, so that users who cannot use a mouse can navigate the website with the keyboard. The website is responsively designed and adapts to various screen sizes, which facilitates use on different devices. In addition, most form elements are correctly labelled, which simplifies operation for all users.

2. Non-accessible Content and Functions

Despite our efforts, there may be areas that are not yet fully accessible or are in the process of adaptation. These may include:

  • PDF documents created before June 1, 2025
  • More complex graphics or diagrams may not yet be described in sufficient detail.
  • The use of ARIA attributes for complex interactions could be extended to improve usability with assistive technologies. Error handling in forms does not fully meet accessibility requirements, as insufficient guidance is provided for screen reader users. In addition, colour contrasts should be checked and, if necessary, improved in some places to ensure better readability for visually impaired users.

We are working to progressively remove these barriers.

3. Feedback and Contact

Should you discover barriers on our website or find that content is not accessible, please provide us with your feedback. Your comments help us to continuously improve the accessibility of our website.

We will endeavour to process your request as quickly as possible and offer an accessible solution.

4. Enforcement Procedure / Complaint Body

If you do not receive a satisfactory response from us within a reasonable period (usually four weeks), or if you believe that our website does not comply with the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), you can contact the enforcement and monitoring body responsible.

In the UK, the primary body responsible for monitoring and enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 is the Government Digital Service (GDS), which operates under the Central Digital and Data Office (CDDO).
